What are psychometrics?
Psychometric tests are becoming common place amongst organisations that understand the links between how well a person fits into the organisation and how well they perform.
Generally psychometrics is the name given to a wide range of tests and questionnaires that are used to find out about a person’s capacities, their work style or their personal values.
There are two ‘level’ of psychometrics that can be used in the workplace, these being ability tests and personality tests.
- Ability tests provide accurate quantitative data on a person’s ability to complete a particular task giving a predictor of their actual ability in the workplace, and are frequently used in recruitment and selection decisions.
- Personality tests, of which there are thousands around the world allow us to accurately predict how a person will behave in their current or future role and are used in recruitment, selection, development and coaching.
